About this Citroën Deux Chevaux

This 2CV has been in my family since 1990. It rides like no other car. Because of its unique suspension, designed for farmers driving over freshly plowed fields..., it’s soft and bouncy on bumpy terrain.

This car maintains its original suspension, and that is extremely rare for a Deux Chevaux imported into the U.S. Beginning in the 90s it was popular to beef up the suspension in these cars, which changed the ride completely.

It’s been very well maintained until about two years ago when it no longer had a garage and wintered under a tarp. The routine maintenance was also skipped for those two years. Other than that, it’s in good shape. The car comes with original and new parts. The cv joints and boots were recently replaced, along with the chassis. Books, records on the car, manuals, and magazine articles are also included.

This 2CV currently does not run. The engine turns over strong, catches, and then fades out after a few seconds. I suspect this is either a gummy carburetor, clogged fuel line, or fuel pump, all easy fixes.
