What is it

#AreWeReachingYou is an eco-friendly, art therapy and educational program designed to relieve stress and raise global awareness in its participants.

During these workshops, Amy takes you on a relaxing journey combining marine science, mindfulness and pyrography, the art of woodburning. Using a meditational process, she will help you discover your connection to the ocean and the power of words. We will then deliver our messages all over the world.

How to join

Get a group of 5-12 people together and find a date/time that works to all meet up online, or in-person, for about 2 hours.
Have one person from the group fill out the registration form below. This will be our contact person for scheduling and details.
Do you need driftwood? Do you need pyrography tools? We can help with both, just let us know.

No prior experience necessary. Participants must be over 12 years of age.
This workshop can be altered slightly to meet your needs. Let’s talk.

Details about the Workshop

Marine Science The ocean is vast and mysterious, so that’s where we start. We’ll talk about drift studies, ocean currents and how the water connects us to others.

Mindful Awareness Once you have an understanding of the ocean, and how large this art installation is, we’ll share a short guided meditation. As an energy worker since 2007, Amy has helped many people relax and tap into their creative potential using meditation.

Pyrography Now that you’re all relaxed and centered, it’s time to burn! Amy will guide you through the process of safely using woodburning tools and introduce you to the basics of pyrography.

Launch When you’ve completed your pyrography, you can either send the finished driftwood to us for launching, or we can discuss a location near you that may work.

Pilot Project

While staying on Monhegan Island in Maine, I asked locals, “If you could send a positive message out into the world, what would it be?” Their answers were burned and stamped into driftwood found on the island and cast back into the ocean by a local ferryman. These messages have the potential to be discovered by someone on another coast, further adding to their story. Driftwood is branded #arewereachingyou to entice finders to post a selfie and location on instagram when they find the driftwood.
